E3 2017 has kicked off with a bang this year for Xbox. Not only have we been promised 42 new titles, but 22 of these are exclusives!
Rare’s newest game, Sea of Thieves is one title we will see early 2018, releasing on both Xbox One and PC. A multiplayer adventure online see’s you and a crew, be it friends, or other people online set sail to the open seas to explore islands and ship wreaks for treasure.
Rare showed off this title in the Microsoft Showcase which you can find and watch here if you want your fix.
The Game play trailer was narrated, quite funny and informative. We saw the player briefly explore the ship before jumping overboard to explore a ship wreak in search of the precious loot within. Before long however the crew attracts the attention of a school sharks and make haste back to the ship.

A quick transition and were on an island, following a riddle to find some buried treasure. The crew manage to work out some of the riddle and find the ‘booty’ The chest has to be carried back to the ship which shows that carrying a chest leaves you defenceless, meaning you have to rely on the others around you to defend you. The Flintlock pistol and Blunderbuss are also heavily shown off as well as a mechanic i hadn’t expected to see, the ability to fire your character from a cannon.
The whole trailer is finished off with an epic battle on the high seas in a storm! Sea of Thieves is one of the most anticipated Co-op titles releasing for Xbox and with this small peak, it’s easy to see why.
