Now that you have your Nintendo Switch 2, you want some good accessories to go with it, right? But let’s say you’ve already broken the bank buying the console and the games. So you want something a little more affordable. Well, not to worry, as PowerA is on the case. And today we’ll take a look at three key items that the company currently has to offer.

There’s a new controller in town that works specifically with the Nintendo Switch 2, and it’s loaded with features. But on top of that, there are also screen protectors, as well as a neat little slim case that you might just like.

Let’s take a look at each item and see how they measure up!

PowerA Advantage Wired Controller for Nintendo Switch 2 – Mario Time

Currently, PowerA offers four different Nintendo Switch 2 controllers, all wired. (That’s a change from its previously Bluetooth-enabled offerings for the original Switch – no doubt that’ll adjust over time.) For this particular review, we opted to go with the Mario Time controller, since we’re a fan of the plumber.

The controller itself features nice, recognizable art on the front, with Mario running through his fantasy world. It’s definitely a welcome design for fans of the hero, complete with a soothing light blue motif. The back, however, is plain black – but it’s not like you buy a controller to look at the back, so no biggie.

Like previous PowerA controllers, this one has Hall effect sticks, so you don’t have to worry about drifting. They react nicely, though they do have clicking noises. For those spoiled by the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, that might be lightly distracting. But they perform well, along with all the buttons on the pad. And yes, you can program the back buttons for extra functionality. That comes in handy during Mario Kart World races.

I should also mention the audio controls, which are cool. Once you plug in a compatible headset, you can switch between different EQ types, including Standard and Bass Boost. This is very cool for a third-party controller, and helpful for those trying to get the most sound from their unit.

Now, there are two drawbacks. Obviously the first is the controller being wired, though it does come with a ten-foot cable for comfort. But the other one is that there’s no HD Rumble feature. This does take a little away from performance, and the controller is surprisingly light as a result.

Still, for $40, you get more than enough for your budget. And it’s nice to have when you want to get some good two-player sessions going on.

PowerA Screen Protector Two-Pack for Nintendo Switch 2

Next up is the PowerA Screen Protector 2-pack for Nintendo Switch 2. As expected, these are screens that you can overlay onto your screen so that it’s further protected. It’s not exactly what I’d call a necessity, but it is convenient to those looking for such an option.

The screens themselves are easy to apply, and also come with dust removal stickers and a microfiber cleaning cloth. These guys are all about keeping your screen as particle free as possible.

They’re not bad, but, again, I feel that only those that are die-hard about fighting against dust will likely invest. The screen itself is already well protected (well, except from extreme drops), and there may be concerns by some as to how to properly apply.

Still, if it’s extra assurance you need, the Screen Protector 2-pack won’t steer you wrong.

PowerA Slim Case for Nintendo Switch 2

Finally, there’s probably my favorite accessory of the bunch – an awesome slim case for both your system and your games. Huzzah!

Built with awesome molded interior and soft fabric lining, the Switch 2 Slim Case is convenient to carry. And you can easily zip it up and open to access your system and games, without any hassle.

What’s more, it actually doubles as a play stand! You can use it for convenient tabletop play, and still keep your system secure. Of course, the system has its own play stand, but, hey, this makes it more stylish.

It also holds up to ten games. My only gripe here is that it seems to be upside down. That is, you can’t see all your titles without turning the entire case over. Maybe it was built this way for better access, it just seems odd to me.

But overall, for a mere $20, you get a swell case that holds pretty much everything you need to carry Switch 2-wise. And the fact it doubles as a stand is awesome, to say the least.
