Microsoft just made a big leap onto the Nintendo Switch 2. As part of today’s Nintendo Direct showcase, Bethesda confirmed it was bringing three games to the platform this year. Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered are set to go. But, more importantly, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is whipping its way to the platform on May 12th.
For those that missed it the first time around, Bethesda and MachineGames’ perfectly captured the nature of the heroic character when they released the game for Xbox and PlayStation. In fact, in our review, we discuss how significantly the adventure was done, right down to the gameplay aspects. Now Nintendo Switch 2 players will be able to experience that themselves.
The game will release digitally alongside its DLC, The Order of Giants, on the same day. No doubt they’ll be offered in some deluxe package.
But here’s where things get interesting. Machine Games confirmed today on its X account that Great Circle is getting a physical release as well — and not an annoying Game Key Card. Apparently it’ll be full game on cart, a huge move for Microsoft.
The press release notes that the release is coming to Japan, but I’d be shocked if they didn’t give it a chance on the U.S. market. There’s no word on a release date yet, but it’s expected later this year.
This is huge news for Microsoft, as it opens the door for even more releases on the Switch 2 platform. Gears of War: E-Day, the Halo remaster and Forza Horizon 6 just became huge possibilities. We can’t wait to see what comes next.
In the meantime, Fallout 4 drops in just a few days (February 24th), so you’ll have that to keep you busy in the meantime.
