The success story surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 is pretty astounding, isn’t it? During its launch period, it was rather…questionable, especially on older consoles. But thanks to some savvy development and patchwork over the years, it’s grown into something spectacular. And now many are heralding it amongst CD Projekt Red’s best. Of course, this means that products tied in with the game are popular as well – like Gunnar Optiks’ Dex Gaming Glasses.

This is the latest collaboration between the glasses company and a gaming brand. But this one seems beneficial for fans, as the specs themselves look like they came straight out of the game. You’ve got a futuristic build on the frames, in a variety of colors. But you also have the imprint on the sides as well, so it’s a Cyberpunk thing through and through.

These are a bit odder than most glasses because of their all-in-one structure on the front. But fans of the game likely won’t mind; and the quality, as usual, is top notch. It shouldn’t be a surprise that these consistently sell out.

Now, not everyone will want to go after a pair of futuristic glasses for a whopping $125. But this is Gunnar we’re talking about, and the Dex gaming glasses are a nice piece of work. Plus they’re a cinch to use during sessions of your favorite Keanu Reeves game.

How Do the Cyberpunk 2077 Glasses Fare Over Time?

As I mentioned, the build is curious. Rather than lenses being put into a pre-existing frame, the entire front piece is singular. That means you get all yellow over the lenses and the center piece, with a little bit of thickness over the nose. However, they’re surprisingly comfortable, even with their futuristic set-up.

Plus the side pieces are nice. They not only provide comfort around the ears, but they’re also monogrammed with the Cyberpunk motif. I’m not sure grey was the best color for them here (what about neon red?), but they still look cool enough for fans to enjoy. And they fold up easily for use with their puffy little pillow case when they’re not in use. (No, really, this thing is cool.)

Over time, they’re useful for your game sessions. But you can also walk around with ease while wearing them at conventions and game shows. The yellow (or other color) tint takes some slight getting used to, but these are some really cool glasses.

The price is right up there, but that’s the usual Gunnar Optiks fare. And they’re still performance pieces for better use of looking at computers and TV screens, so no argument there. If you’re a fan of the series and don’t mind the interesting build, these Dex glasses are a must.

How Do the Cyberpunk 2077 Dex Glasses Hold Up With Performance?

Of course, the first game that we tested our glasses with was Cyberpunk 2077. Why wouldn’t you? They obviously don’t add to the experience, but they’re great for long periods of running with the game. And this is especially true for high-end monitors and TV’s that show a lot of detail. You’ll be thanking your eyes for the protection later.

But the glasses work fundamentally well with casual games, too. We tried it with Mr. Do! on the Xbox (because, you know, classic) and it was great for long sessions of high scoring. They’re also surprisingly fitting with our Forza Horizon 6 sessions, making you feel like you’re in Japan even more. Does that make sense?

So, yeah, Gunnar knows the right way to get glasses to work with games and set-ups like these. The Dax glasses are no exception.

Pricey? Yes. Worth It? Also Yes.

If you can get your hands on a pair of the Cyberpunk 2077 Dex glasses (they sell out fast), I highly recommend them. Again, the build is a bit curious, and they may look too “nerdy” for some. But the performance is right on target with what we expect from Gunnar; and the framing is solid. Plus they’re great for a number of your gaming sessions, no matter what you’re into.

So, yeah, if you’ve got a Silverhand frame of mind, you should definitely pick these up. You can check them out here, as well as other glasses shops.
